Since 1973, Kiss singer and guitarist Paul Stanley has carved out a niche as one of rock’s most engaging frontmen.
With a hand in his band’s album art, costumes, songwriting, staging and more, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s creativity has helped to define one of the strongest, most successful brands in rock and roll history.
Outside music, Stanley applies his passion and creativity to both cooking and art. While relatively new to the art world, picking up painting two decades ago, he was nevertheless dubbed an “art phenom,” by Wentworth Gallery Principal Christian O’Mahony for his ability to sell out full gallery displays of his work.
With nine retail galleries, Wentworth is one the nation’s top sellers of fine art, boasting a number of exclusive partnerships with artists and musicians.
Following a pair of events in Florida earlier this month, Stanley will be in attendance this weekend at Wentworth exhibitions in Bethesda, Maryland (Friday, February 24 at Montgomery Mall) and McLean, Virginia (Saturday, February 25 at Tysons Galleria), displaying his work in the “Black Series,” uniquely vibrant paintings put forth on black canvas instead of the more traditional white.

Frontman of legendary rock band will shed a tear when they play their final UK date ever at the Glasgow OVO Hydro

Paul Stanley is preparing to shed a tear when he plays the last ever British KISS show – in Scotland.
It’s been 50 years since the formation of the glam rockers – known for their outrageous make-up and costumes – and 40 years since they debuted in Scotland.

It’s been 50 years since the formation of the glam rockers – known for their outrageous make-up and costumes – and 40 years since they debuted in Scotland.
But on July 8 the group say their live farewell to the UK at the OVO Hydro Glasgow.
Paul, 71, said: “It’s a special place to say goodbye. Together, we will make it momentous and bombastic.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t a tear or two shed – and that will be me.”

Going further than other glam rock bands of the 70s, they created characters with make-up and costumes. Paul was Starchild and Gene was the Demon. Original members Ace Frehley was the Spaceman and drummer Peter Criss was the Catman. Since 1991 Eric Singer has been drummer and Catman and in 2002 Tommy Thayer became lead guitarist and the new Spaceman.
The band announced their farewell End of the Road World Tour in 2018 with the Covid pandemic postponing the last leg until 2023. After Glasgow there are just three more (European) gigs – two in Sweden and one in Norway. There are rumours they’ll do one final gig in their New York hometown.
